Sam Jones

With over 10 years of teaching experience, Sam is a qualified primary teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary) from the University of Canterbury. Throughout her career, she has specialised in the junior primary years (Years 1- 4), supporting children to build strong foundations in their learning while developing confidence and a love of school.

Sam currently leads a team as a hub leader, overseeing both staff and students. It's a role that reflects the trust placed in her experience and judgement, though what matters most to her is making sure every child and every teacher in her hub feels genuinely supported.

She has extensive experience designing and delivering personalised learning programmes that meet the diverse needs of individual learners, helping every child achieve meaningful progress at their own pace. She believes that every child can succeed when they're supported in the right way, and is passionate about working in partnership with whānau to ensure children feel encouraged both at home and at school.

For Sam, tutoring is about much more than academic achievement. She takes a holistic approach, supporting each child's social, emotional, and academic wellbeing, because these all play an important role in learning. Seeing a child experience those "lightbulb moments," celebrate small wins, and grow in confidence is what inspires her every day, and is the reason she loves what she does.
